What is Laser or Light Therapy?
Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near infrared) to create therapeutic effects. Most lasers on the market today in the USA have a power range from 5mw to 500mw, making them a cold laser. What are the Technological Advancements?
This dynamic emerging technology utilizes dual laser diodes to irradiate abnormal tissue with photons. These are particles of energy that are absorbed by a variety of micro-molecules within the cell, a process which initiates a number of positive physiological responses. The goal is to cure the problem, and as logic dictates, symptoms disappear. With recent advances in the engineering of electronic devices, such as the Class IV K-laser dramatic benefits and treatment of many complex painful medical conditions are achievable. The K-laser combines numerous sophisticated engineering advances with the capacity to control all parameters such as frequency, duty cycle, energy density, duration, etc. An infinitive range of protocols can then be delivered to tissue in standard fashion or a customized basis. The dual wavelengths therapeutic laser beam permits penetration of deep tissues without affecting normal cells. How Does The Laser Help You To Heal?
Healing with the use of light is not new, however with recent developments, using laser light as a treatment has gained more popularity. This is because we can now use specific wavelengths of light and give accurately measured doses of energy directly to the appropriate treatment site, which was not possible with other light sources.
Class IV-level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of thermal photons of light. Light is transmitted through the skin's layers (the dermis, epidermis and the subcutaneous tissue or tissue fat under the skin) at all wavelengths in the visible range. However, light waves in the near infrared ranges penetrate the deepest of all light waves in the visible spectrum. When Class IV level laser waves penetrate deeply into the skin, they optimize the immune response in the blood. When light is transmitted to the blood in this way has positive effective through-out the whole body, supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell. The laser also stimulates other tissues to create healing. The light from the laser is absorbed by special cellular components that modulate biochemical activity within the body to produce beneficial effects.
